Nearly 70% of e-cigarette users are completely replacing cigarette with electronic cigarette says survey Summary: Two thirds of people switching from tobacco cigarettes to electronic cigarettes have stopped using tobacco completely says an online survey of more than 150 smokers.
Tens of thousands of smokers have switched from traditional cigarettes to an electronic version. Now a survey on electronic cigarette usage suggests that more than two thirds of these users are replacing cigarettes completely with the innovative new devices. 67.8% of the electronic cigarette users surveyed stated that they had made a complete switch to electronic cigarettes. And a further 29.5% stated that they had partially replaced tobacco cigarettes with e-cigarettes. Only 4 smokers (2.7%) continued to smoke the same number of tobacco cigarettes as before. Electronic cigarettes still contain nicotine, so smokers who switch to the devices are not quitting. However, the devices deliver the nicotine without the tar, tobacco and combustion of regular cigarettes.
